- Oligonucleotide:
Oligo means a few. Oligonucleotides are therefore a chain of a few nucleotides.
- Osteoblast:
A cell that gives rise to bone tissue by producing bone matrix.
- Osteocytes:
Bone cells, or osteoblasts that have been typically isolated in lacunae in of adult bone.
- Osteosarcoma:
A malignant bone tumor, usually seen in children and adolescents. In children the usual site for the tumor is the leg, particularly the femur. Secondary growths (metastases) are common, most frequently in the lungs (though other sites, such as the liver, may also be involved). The symptoms are usually pain and swelling at the site of the tumor and there is often a history of preceding trauma, although it is doubtful whether this contributes to the cause.
- Oxyntic cells:
Acid-producing cells of the gastric mucosa; also known as parietal cells.
